A custom bot is configured for a specific purpose. It can include instructions, a preferred tone, behavior boundaries and guardrails, and reference documents to help provide relevant, context-aware responses.

Steps to build a bot

Open the sidebar, select "My Menu" > "Bots" > "Create New Bot"

Step 1: Name your bot

Give it a clear name and short description so teammates know what it does.

Step 2: Add instructions and tone

Define the role, boundaries, and tone. Say what the bot should and shouldn't do.

Step 3: Upload supported sources

Add files and URLs that you want to use as your Knowledge Base.

Step 4: Create the bot

Once created, you can choose whether to make the bot available to all users or only selected users. Bots made available to others appear on the Discover Bots page and can be accessed by the users you selected.

Step 5: Test before publishing

Run realistic questions. Check that responses are accurate, relevant, and aligned with the bot's instructions. Look for hallucinations or gaps.

Step 6: Update or remove

Keep your sources and instructions current. If a bot is no longer needed, remove it.
